Building Resilience

This interactive workshop, developed by Transitions and Transformations: The Black Researcher’s Journey — one of the 13 Research England-funded projects focused on racial equity and access to postgraduate education — and The Diversity Trust, focuses on what resilience means, why it matters, and practical ways to strengthen it.

By the end of this session, users will have covered the following: 

  • What is resilience and why is it important
  • What are some of the misconceptions of resilience
  • Effects of adversity on individuals wellbeing 
  • Unlearning and learning new patterns of behaviour
  • A basic resilience plan
  • Overview of the key skills and strategies to build resilience
