Statement from the Board of Trustees concerning Professor Jason Arday
The Board of Trustees at the Council pays tribute to Professor Jason Arday, whose death is a profound loss to us, to many of our members, and to colleagues and students across the sector. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and students, all of whom remain firmly in our thoughts.
Professionally and personally, Jason was always open, warm and generous with his time in seeking to address the intersectional issues in graduate education. Jason brought valuable insight into our initiatives and discussions on widening participation at doctoral level through contributions to working groups, conferences, and helping to foster conversations between universities, policymakers and students.
His generosity of spirit and willingness to be part of the UKCGE community will continue to influence what we do and how we work in the years to come, and we will continue to advocate for a postgraduate sector that embodies inclusion, respect, integrity, and compassion.
