In November 2024, we held the second of our EDI conferences focussing on Race and Ethnicity in PGR, this time at the Leonardo Hotel in Brighton.

On November 6^th 2024, the Co-Chairs of our Postgraduate Education Practitioners’ Network, Susanna Broom and Kerri Gardiner, held a workshop looking at the specific issues and unique challenges which face those working within postgraduate research.

On October 25th 2024, UKCGE hosted the launch of the UK Research Supervision Survey Report (UKRSS) 2024 in partnership with Next Generation Research SuperVision Project (RSVP), with funding from Research England.

The UK Council for Graduate Education is delighted to publish the UK Research Supervision Survey 2024 Report. These insights are drawn from the largest ever survey of UK research supervisors, eliciting 5,174 responses across 141 institutions.

On October 23^rd 2024 we held the first in a series of online events looking at the mental health and wellbeing of postgraduate students. Participants were given presentations on two case studies, and there were opportunities to network and share best practice. 

Professor Doug Cleaver, Chair of Trustees for UKCGE, presented at the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) Strategic Leaders’ Summit, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 6^th to 8^th 2024.

Professor Bonnie Steves from Glasgow Caledonian University stepped down as Co-Chair of the DDD Network earlier this year. We are grateful for all the support she’s given over the years and are pleased to announce her successor.

Due to the retirement of Professor Stan Taylor, who was the inaugural Chair of the Research Supervisors’ Network, two Co-Chairs have been appointed to take over the running of this forum.
