Election Results for the UK Council for Graduate Education

There were three vacancies on the committee this year and six were received by the Council so a postal ballot took place in June 2013. The results were announced at the Annual Conference 2013, held this year at Maple House, Birmingham. 

Election Results for the UK Council for Graduate Education

The Council is pleased to announce that Professor Sarah Hainsworth, University of Leicester and Gill Clarke, University of Oxford, have been re-elected to stand for another three years. The Council is delighted to announce that Stefanie Thorne, University Campus Suffolk has been elected as full Executive Committee member. The Council would like to extend a very warm welcome to her and we very much look forward to working with them over the next three years and beyond.

Formerly the Principal Administrative Officer for Research and Graduate School Manager at the University of East London (2001–2007), Stefanie contributed to the development of the infrastructure for research and researcher development there. During this period she was temporarily seconded to HEFCE as assistant panel Secretary for RAE 2008 before taking maternity leave. She then accepted a PhD studentship in Education at Glasgow Caledonian to study the impact of the introduction of Graduate Schools and the globalisation of doctoral education. Currently writing up her thesis, she now works as the Graduate School Manager in the UCS Graduate School.
