This activity workbook, developed by Transitions and Transformations: The Black Researcher’s Journey — one of the 13 Research England-funded projects focused on racial equity and access to postgraduate education — and Vitae, aims to support postgraduate researchers in developing healthy work-based practices.
Through this workbook, PGRs can go through 4 activities focused on developing and sustaining healthy work-based practices while in a postgraduate programme.
Activity 1 will help PGRs review how one uses their time in a typical week & to self-assess as to whether one use their time productively. A PGR
might want to focus on a week they have recently completed, or one coming up.
Activity 2 will help a PGR list the academic, professional, personal or financial challenges that impact their day-to-day
environment as a researcher.
Activity 3 will help a PGR to identify specific behaviours that they wish to change or maintain, supporting them to produce a roadmap to achieve
better balance.
Activity 4 is designed to support a PGR to create a Strategic Action Plan.
