UKCGE Annual Conference 2024

Postgraduate education has impact: it transforms lives, creates economic advantages for individuals and it’s a core part of what makes universities thrive. This conference is a chance to explore the impacts of postgraduate education and to learn how to maximise their benefits.
We will look at how to measure postgraduate impact and how to design postgraduate programmes and training to deliver impact, including using them as a vehicle for collaborations with industry. You will come away with an overview of the impact of postgraduate education on institutional finances, cultures and strategies, and with the tools to implement new ideas.
The UKCGE Annual Conference is our opportunity to come together as a sector, to learn from one another and to reflect on our current challenges and priorities. There are a variety of session types including oral presentations, interactive workshops, thematic symposia and small group discussions. Contributions vary from discussions of practice and processes to evaluations of the latest thinking in learning and teaching. There will also be plenty of networking opportunities. We welcome all contributions, and we prize the reputation of our annual conference as a warm, friendly forum to celebrate all things postgraduate.

You can also find out more by visiting the Epigeum in the main catering area at the Conference.
General Election 2024
The opening day of the conference coincides with polling day in the 2024 General Election. We at UKCGE are keen to ensure that no-one misses their opportunity to vote due to attending the conference. As such, we would encourage conference attendees to refer to official advice on how to apply for a postal vote.
The deadline for applying for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 19th June 2024.
Inclusivity at UKCGE Events
Everyone involved in the conference should be able to enjoy it and benefit from attending, whether they are an organiser, supporter, presenter or audience member. Those who are most affected by prejudice, micro-aggressions or abuse of power are often those who face other systemic barriers relating to their race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, gender or (mental) health.
Ahead of the conference, we are asking everyone involved to think about how to promote inclusivity, and to play their role in actioning change. We want a conference which is safer, more accessible, more inclusive, and convivial, not just for those who already experience these spaces as comfortable or welcoming, but for everyone. We all have a role to play in challenging and changing the environment around supporting access for all. Participation in the conference is conditional on behaving in accordance with UKCGE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion ethos in ways that are fair, collegiate, caring, equitable, inclusive, respectful, non-exploitative and anti-discriminatory.
