UKCGE responds to QAA Consultation

The UK Council for Graduate Education Executive Committee has responded to the QAA Consultation on Doctoral Degree Characteristics 2014.

The UKCGE believe that the document on Doctoral Degree Characteristics 2014 is an improvement on the 2011 edition and contains much information that describes the current doctoral degree landscape in the UK. Its aim is to provide an insight into the doctoral degrees in the UK and will be of use to an international market. UKCGE recognises the diversity of doctoral provision in the UK and this document attempts to explain these various differences.

We have not attempted to edit or offer line by line criticism of the document but group our comments around a few main concerns.
