During the AGM last year, the UKCGE Honorary Treasurer, Dr Douglas Halliday, noted the Council’s desire to be able to freeze the membership annual subscriptions from 1st August 2015 at the 2014–2015 rate of £690 for full membership.

UKCGE Membership subscriptions frozen for 2015–2016

The Council is delighted to be able to inform members that the proposal to freeze membership fees for 2015–2016 will be put to members during the AGM at this year’s Annual Conference on 2nd July 2015.

The Council’s Principal Officer, Carolyn Wynne said

As a not for profit organisation, it’s really important that we keep membership fees as low as possible for our members. We are conscious of the funding restrictions imposed on our members and our not for profit model has always meant that we set our membership fees and delegate fees to cover our costs but allowing a small surplus that we can invest in new initiatives. The most recent examples of such initiatives are the Working Groups and the Deans and Directors of Graduate Schools Network, which have provided added value to our membership and are helping to inform and influence policy in the sector. Subject to our members approval at the AGM in July, it’s wonderful that we will be able to freeze subscriptions for the next Academic Year”.
