Shortlist Announced for The Times Higher Education Awards Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year
Shortlist Announced for The Times Higher Education Awards Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year
As we announced back in May we’re delighted to be sponsoring a new category at this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) Awards.
Our category – Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year – gives recognition, on a national stage, to the hard work, commitment and support that the thousands of research supervisors so richly deserve.
The winner will be the supervisor deemed to have created the most supportive, stimulating and inspirational research environment for their students. Chosen by an esteemed panel of judges including our Chair, Rosemary Deem, the winning supervisor will have demonstrated why they are worthy of the title through their enthusiasm for the role and their desire to go the extra mile to help their students.
They will be a supervisor who challenges and encourages their students to contribute something of substance to their area of academic discourse. And they will be a supervisor who provides additional support and facilities to give greater scope to the PhD, or to enable it to be completed early, and one who the PhD viva and offers constructive employment and career advice post-graduation.
In short, they will be the Outstanding Research Supervisor of the Year!
