What Being a Co-Chair of the Graduate School Managers Network Involves

The Graduate School Managers Network meets a minimum of 2 times a year—once for a stand-alone workshop, and once at a Symposium during the UKCGE Annual Conference. This re-quires the Co-Chair of the Network to be will-ing to design, plan and facilitate these meetings, which may also take place at the Co-Chair’s own institution.

The Co-Chair of the Graduate School Managers Network can therefore expect to spend at least 6 days per year in planning and hosting Net-work meetings, and in writing content for the GSM Newsletter.

Current and Future Priorities for the UKCGE GSM Network

The next meeting of the GSM Network is on the 14th November 2019 at Sensor City, Liverpool. The theme for that event is Managing Change in Graduate Schools & Doctoral Colleges.

The person appointed will work alongside Carolyn Wynne, Doctoral College Manager, Coventry University as Co-Chair of the network and will be expected to assist with the planning and delivery of this event and should be available to participate.

The GSM Network is planning a second meeting in May 2020, the theme for which has yet to be decided.

The GSM Network is also developing a Mentoring scheme for Graduate School Managers, and the Co-Chair will be expected to advise on the development of that scheme.
