Council targets continued growth and engagement

The Executive Committee has released the headlines from its business strategy planning and activity meeting which took place at its December meeting.

The five year outline business strategy, which presents the Council’s key strategic aims, was formally approved by the UKCGE membership at the AGM in July 2015. During its annual strategy meeting in December, plans for the delivery of this business plan were developed by the Executive Committee and staff team collectively, in response to comprehensive membership feedback.

Building on the recent continued rise in growth and engagement, the Council’s five key strategic objectives are to:

  • Maintain high quality events through a variety of formats
  • Grow full and associate membership
  • Increase international engagement through relevant activities
  • Continue to produce high quality research for and on behalf of the sector
  • Explore and where appropriate engage with policy development activities

Over the coming months UKCGE will be developing an action plan to integrate new and existing activities in line with its strategic objectives.

Professor Rosemary Deem, UKCGE Chair

We are excited about the future of the Council. It is important that we continue putting Council members at the heart of what we are trying to achieve to champion the interests of postgraduate education.”

We are grateful to all those members who have provided feedback to the Council and continue to support and champion UKCGE to colleagues internally at their institutions.”

Carolyn Wynne, UKCGE Principal Officer said

This strategy gives us a framework of how we can continue meeting the needs of the Council’s growing membership community. We are looking forward to being able to deliver activities towards the agreed strategic objectives throughout the year, and as always, encourage any colleagues within the membership to get involved where possible.”
