Workshop for Doctoral Candidates

The recent doctoral reviews undertaken by ESRC and EPSRC highlighted the critical role of the supervisor in the PhD experience. In the light of these and in the context of the New Deal for Postgraduate Research, UKRI is keen to explore the role that it can play in supporting supervisors and enhancing supervisory practice.

To inform this, UKCGE has been commissioned to run two virtual workshops, one for supervisors and one for students (there will also be one for Doctoral Training Partnership Directors which UKRI will convene). We are keen to hear from a diverse range of perspectives and disciplines including from supervisors and students that don’t have experience of UKRI funding.

This is your opportunity to shape the expectations that UKRI places on supervisors as well as its role in supporting the development of good practice of across the sector more broadly. Places are limited-to register your interest in attending, please click on the relevant link below. Once your attendance has been confirmed, you will receive a briefing note with more details about the topics to be discussed.

The workshop for Doctoral Candidates takes place on Wednesday 13th July 2022. If you would like to attend please submit an expression of interest by completeing the form below.
